School may be out for the summer, but here's an opportunity for kids to learn about our brave men and women in uniform. Remembering Our Fallen will be on display at The Amvets Post 100 (210 East Court) from May 29-June 11. This amazing Memorial bears the pictures of over 5400 of our hero's lost in the war on terror.
We will be offering Education Days on June 3 4 5 so that kids can learn about the true meaning of freedom. We will have educators on hand and activities for the kids. We hope that they will view the memorial and talk to the gold star family members.
We are extending these special hours to all daycares and organizations and ask that you secure a time so that we can plan to accommodate as many children as possible. Times available are 9 10 and 11 and will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Sessions will be 1 hour but viewing time may be extended with your discretion.
We are honored to bring this amazing memorial to Jacksonville and hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to teach our youth. For more information and set a time, please contact Carol Hauser at (217) 248-7915.
