"Students in Mr. Maruna's geography class and Mrs. Bergschneider's English class joined forces in a cross-curricular activity. The activity was a summative lesson for the 7th grader's unit on sub-Saharan Africa, and 8th grader's English unit on creative literature. The students were tasked to compose a haiku poem about a nature theme, and then create a mask to model the cultural customs of many sub-Saharan African tribes."
