Madden Delaney & Thaddeus Bergschneider, the champion and runner-up in our region, competed in the state competition for Poetry Out Loud on March 8. Statewide this year, 3079 students and 84 teachers from 26 schools entered the program.

Madden Delaney had a remarkable finish in 3rd place in the state competition. She recited Stephen Dunn's "Propositions," Mirza Asadula Khan Ghalib's "No, I wasn't ment to love and be loved," and Margaret Atwood's "Backdrop addresses cowboy." This was Madden's third consecutive year participating in Poetry Out Loud and her growth over time is something to truly be admired. She has left a special mark on the Poetry Out Loud community and set high standards for competitors at FHS.

We are proud of everything Madden and Thaddeus have accomplished and are looking forward to continuing to be strong competitors in our region!
