COMPUTER HARDWARE & SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS

Credit: 1 unit
This class will introduce students to the workings of a computer
and a network. Students will apply knowledge by using all kinds
of software and hardware products including: writeable cd rom
drives, hubs, digital cameras, video cameras, web design software,
virtual reality software, and video creation. The class will be
project driven. ( This course is not available at this time)

Length of Course: 2 semesters
Credit: 1 unit
Prerequisite: Completion of the Boxes of Wires Camp or Approval
of the Instructor.
This class will give students practice in applying skills learned in the ISBE Boxes and Wires Camp. Concepts will include: networking, building/repairing computers and other peripherals, teaching concepts to others, installing and learning software, completing computer projects, etc. Students will be expected to help maintain the district's computers and network.
The class may be repeated.
