Surviving the Applewhites

• Book is called Surviving the Applewhites. It was about a family who runs a home school. They teach all the family members. Then they get a new student, his name is Jake Semple. He is a very bad kid, and his parents are in jail for growing weed in their basement. He has gotten kicked out of every public school in Rhode Island; he burns down his old school. Now the only place left that will take him is The Applewhites. He starts out pretty rough with them, and he doesn’t want to listen. He smokes, cusses, and is just an all around bad kid. But in the end he turns out to be a pretty good kid. This story takes place in TrailBridge South Carolina at a place called Witt’s End.

This book is a good read for a rainy Saturday. I agree with Kollin about the story line but it also talks about a few of the Applewhite children themselves and the problems that they are having with Jake Semple being at Wits End. The book is easy to read and a funny story.
