I would recommend Number the Stars book because there is exciting moments that are frightening. I like this book because it is about WWII and how the German soldiers treated the Jewish people. It is about two girls Annamarie, and Ellen who are friends. Ellen was Jewish and hides out in Annamarie’s house. My favorite character is Annamarie because she is brave enough to stand up to the German soldiers. I learned that we should treat people the way we want to be treated.

In the book Number the Stars it tells about life during war and how the Jewish people had to hide from the others because would severely be hurt or killed. The soldiers would always steal their food and other stuff. The main setting in this story is in a farmhouse with a cow barn in Denmark. I think you should read this book because you can learn about how life was like during times like this and how smart and brave they were when the soldiers caught them. My favorite character is Annemarie. My favorite part of this book is were she tries to go to her uncle and gets caught by soldiers. Annemarie acts stupid and gets away. I like this book because it teaches you how to use your head.

My book is Number the Stars. In this book Anna Marie’s family are hiding Ellen, which is her best friends. They are hiding Ellen cause she is Jewish and the Germans are trying to catch and kill Jewish people. Ellen’s parents are hiding to. They are disguising Ellen as Anna’s dead sister Lise. The story has a lot of close encounters. The best close encounter is when they have a fake funeral. They use it to have a meeting among Ellen’s family. They have an actual casket but then the soldiers come they ask what’s in the casket and their mother told them it was her aunt Birtty how had Typhus. So they smacked her and left. The setting is Norway. This book is sad and it will keep you at the edge of your seat. It was the best book a ever read.

The book Number the Stars is a very good book and I recommend this book to anyone. If you are interested in how it was during the World War II, this is a good book because I am into war. It tells about the war and it is very explanatory about what they had and what they didn’t have, and what they had rations of. The book is about two friends that have a problem. Ellen had to keep from getting found by the German soldiers. If she were found she would have to go to a concentration camp Annemarie’s parents claimed Ellen as her own daughter, so she wouldn’t get caught. Ellen is my favorite character in Number the Stars because she is very brave and courageous. This story took place in Denmark. My favorite part is when the German soldier came to the funeral and asked to open the casket but they say that Aunt Birty had typhus. Because the soldiers were afraid of that disease, they said to wait and open the casket when they left. I learned what it was like to live during the World War II.

Number the Stars is a good book to read if you want a little bit of history. The story is about a girl and her family who is trying to help another family escape because the one of the families are Jewish. The Jewish girl is wearing a Jewish’s symbol for a necklace which is very interesting to see and very beautiful from what I have seen from the book. The Jewish family is very sad because the Germans are after them so they have to be on guard at all the time so they won’t be captured and thrown in camp. My favorite character is the mother of the family who is not a Jew. My favorite part of the book is when Annemarie went to give her Uncle a basket of food for his trip and outwitted the soldiers who stopped her to see what was in the basket. She was scared but she forgot all about her fear and beat the soldiers in their own game to see who would give and the girl won. The story took place in Denmark. They live in an old house near the ocean. The story is very sad if you get sad very easily. I learned that the Jewish had a hard time back then and I am sad how they were treated by the Germans in WWII then.

- Number the Stars was a pretty good book. What I liked about the book was that I learned a lot about World War II. This book was about two friends that were girls, and their names where Annemarie and Ellen. One of the problems they faced was that Ellen was Jewish and at that time a lot of Jewish people were captured and killed or captured and sent to a concentration camp. Annemarie’s sister’s name was Kirsty. My favorite characters is Kirsty because in the beginning of the story when they get stopped by the officers she never admits if she was scared or if she was worried. This book took place in Denmark. My favorite part of the book was when the officers stopped them and they get asked all kinds of questions. What I learned from the book was that back then it was hard to survive if you where a Jewish person and that a lot of Jewish people where treated poorly or they where killed.
