Impulse is about three kids who are in rehab. Vanessa is in there because she cuts herself to get her problems away and she blames herself for her mothers death even though it wasn't really her fault. Tony is in there because he killed one of his mothers boyfriends and also trys killing himself. Conner is in there because he dated his teacher and attempted suicide. The three kids have trouble opening up and talking about there problems but the figure out that if you don't open up then you don't go home. The three become very close friends. Vanessa secretly continues to cut herself but Conner and Tony are okay. Vanessa developes a crush on Conner. Conner developes a crush on Vanessa and his counsler. And Tony developes a crush on Conner, yes he is a homosexual. In the last challenge that the kids have to face out in the booneys Conner jumps off the side of the cliff and dies and Tony and Vanessa continue to date even though it was such a tragic loss.
My favorite character is Tony. Probably because he is the only real different one because he is gay in the beginning and straight in the end. He's just very confusing and unpredictable. My favorite part in the whole book would probably be when Vanessa goes home for a holiday visit and her dad comes home. I choose this book because I books that are about other teens and there problems. I recommend this book because it makes you think about your life and the choices you are making. And it may affect the choices you make in your future.
