Objective-The students will use the graphics and word processor in Storybook Weaver to create a story of their own.

Activities-The students will use the program Storybook Weaver to create a picture. They will then write a story to go along with their picture.

Resources-Storybook Weaver program

Time Frame-We will introduce fairy tales on Monday. I will then work with the small groups.  The students will have about a half hour daily to work on their story for the rest of the week. The stories should be finished by the end of the week.

Procedures-We will begin the lesson by reading a fairy tale as a whole group and discussing the elements of fairy tales. Then I will meet with the class in small groups to view a fairy tale already programmed into Storybook Weaver. We will then go through the procedures to use Storybook Weaver.  The students will then be allowed to create their own graphics and stories.

Evaluation-When a group has completed their story, they will read their stories to the group. We will discuss the stories and the student will fill out a rubric to self-evaluate their story.
