Teacher Technology-----Winter Activity Writing Assignment

Objective: By seeing the Power Point presentation the students will be able to check their writing assignments and correct to make a good, complete paragraph.

Activities:

1. Have the class brainstorm and make a list on the board about activities that they do in the winter.

2. Have students begin writing a paragraph about their favorite winter activity.

3. When they are finished show the students the Power Point presentation of the writing checklist. As we go through each slide the students will check their writing and correct as needed.

4. Give students the opportunity to write their final copy

Materials:

Wipe board

Writing paper

Pencils/erasers

Dictionaries/folders

Computer/power point slides

Resources:

“Writing Center Prompts” book

Computer

Microsoft Power Point program

Time factor:

1^st 30-minute period --- brainstorm and write

2^nd 30-minute period --- show presentation, check paragraphs, write final copy

Assessment: By reading their paragraphs, I will be able to see if the students have thoroughly checked their writing and have successfully corrected and made the best paragraph possible.
