Weeks depending on how much time is spent each day on the activities
Activities:
Students
will observe indoor and outdoor thermometers at various times throughout the
day and week.
After
making their own anemometers, students will mark one cup with an X and count
how many times it goes around in a given amount of time, they will record it in
their lab manuals.
Students
will make a collage showing seasonal pictures of clothing and activities.
Students
will make a poster of the water cycle and label the different parts.
Students
will observe a glass of water setting in the sun over a period of several days
and record the outcome in their lab manuals.
Students
will observe two metal cans into which one has been placed warm water and the
other ice water with food coloring added to each. After 5 minutes students will record in their lab manual the
changes they notice.
Students
will name different types of severe weather conditions and then list ways they
can stay safe in those conditions.
Teacher will record children’s responses on a Wall Chart.

Assessment:
Use
accompanying PowerPoint
presentation for review. Then students
will be given a handout which contains the same table in which they will have
to cut apart and glue the correct answers in the appropriate boxes.
