Purpose: To teach the stages of plant and animal mitosis

Unit: The cell

Objectives:

1. Instruct the students on stages of mitosis using powerpoint presentation of Animal Cell Mitosis.

2. Use computer generated poster to show Plant Cell Mitosis for comparison.

3. Have students make the stages of mitosis using yarn kits.

4. Have the students draw diagrams and label the parts.

Activities:

1. Students will watch powerpoint presentation.

2. Students will make mitosis using kits of yarn.

3. Students will draw and label stages on paper.

Time: 84 minute class

Assessment: Drawings will be graded and test will be given on Mitosis
