Purpose:
Individual
students have the opportunity to answer all questions at the board on their
special day.
Objective:
To
reinforce their math skills of patterning, calendar, counting, mental
computation, temperature, time, money, graphing, writing of numbers, fact
families, place value, and problem solving.

Meeting
board pieces supplied by Saxon Math Company or tag board to make your own
posters
Dry
erase markers and eraser
Computer
Activities:
Every
morning the Student of the Day will complete the following math exercises at
the Meeting Board-
Write today’s date
Mark the day’s attendance
Record the day’s lunch count
Display the appropriate money amount shown
Record the correct time given
Fill in the daily count
Finish a given fact family
Record the day’s temperature

Limit:
Student
should be able to complete all activities in 15 minutes
Procedure:
Student
of the Day will begin working on the board first thing in the morning while
other students are completing their counting seatwork. The Student of the Day looks up the currant
local temperature on the computer by going to the Internet under http://weather.com/weather/local/62601.
Assessment:
Teacher
checks the meeting board after the Student of the Day has finished and has student
make any changes that are needed.
