Pre-Kindergarten

Mrs. Ballard's Class

Monthly Themes

In the Franklin Pre-K we use The Creative Curriculum for Preschool by Diane Trister Dodge, Laura J. Colker, and Cate Heroman.

The room is divided into the various areas: blocks, dramatic play, writing, art, computers, discovery, table toys and games, reading area, and sand and water. At the various centers there are materials to help children learn and explore. The areas incorporate literacy, mathematics, science, social science, physical development and health, fine arts, foreign language, social and emotional development, and technology. I use themes and plan centers that relate with what we are learning and include the Illinois Early Learning Standards.
